Surface gauges, downhole gauges with surface read out, flowmeters, plunger lift controllers, and acoustic well sounders are some of the instruments featured within the realm of production optimization services.
The service company installs these instruments to collect intense data sets for relatively short periods of time. Historically, the data is collected by making a trip to the wellsite every day or two. This is risky, time consuming, expensive, and hard on the environment.
MRL minimizes trips to the well site by supplying a hardware communication solution that the client simply needs to connect to the instrument. The MRL unit automatically configures to the instrument and communicates by either cellular or satellite technologies to the MRL network. Every reading taken by the instrument is securely communicated to the MRL network.
The client securely logs onto the website and now has complete control of the data set. The data can be presented in graphical and tabular formats, or can be exported to analysis software.
The system is bi-directional. For example the client can make set point changes or change sample rates to the remote site instrumentation.
The result is the client can optimize the length of the installation by having timely access to the data set. In the case of shut in wells, the savings are considerable.
