Slickline services such as memory gauge installations and retrievals and cased hole wireline services typically feature medium to large data sets. The data sets are typically stored within the memory of a conventional personal computer and the need is usually to get the data set to the rest of the organization as quickly and cost effectively as possible.
Field personnel often struggle with sending data and operational files by email over the cellular or satellite networks. The cell coverage in remote locations is often not available and the low bandwidth satellite systems are sometimes frustrating to operate for data transmissions. High bandwidth satellite systems for these applications are typically too costly to own and operate.
MRL provides an application through which the data can be posted to a secure website so that authorized personel can access the data. If the cell or satellite coverage is good, the client can simply access the Internet and the client website within the MRL network and post the data sets. Alternatively if the coverage is poor, the client can simply upload the files to the MRL middleware, shut off the computer and the files will be automatically transmitted while the client is driving back to the hotel or field office.
The result is the client in the field does not have to become a communications expert and spend time on location to transmit data sets. By using the MRL solution, the data sets are quickly and cost effectively within the client website ready for analysis and report generation.
